My first [completed] fanart for the wonderful book, Wuthering Heights. This picture is based on the interpretation Ralph Fiennes gave as Heathcliff in the 1992 movie which I adore.
This is Heathcliff, the gentleman, after he returns from making his fortune and buys Wuthering Heights from Hindley. I'm not overly happy with this picture - my coloring could've been better, but perhaps this is because I have not colored anything for MONTHS now. Plus, my scanner made the colors more dull. *sigh* At least I'm glad to be drawing again!
This is my half on an art trade with the talented - hope you like it, dear!
*gasp* Ralph!Heathcliff, woo hoo! I have yet to read the book but I just saw that movie version recently and I really enjoyed it. And I agree about the similarites to Phantom. That's exactly what I was thinking as I watched it.
Great job on the drawing and coloring! I've been thinking about drawing Heathcliff myself. Hopefully I'll get around to it sometime soon...

I think you would love this book, actually - it's very dark, and the relationships all end in chaos and destruction - the female protagonist, Cathy, kills herself (literally!) by betraying her true feelings for Heathcliff and marrying another for status and fortune. There are some truly wonderful scenes in Wuthering Heights, and the entire book is so highly emotionally charged and gothic - it resembles Phantom in quite a few ways, except that Catherine and Heathcliff are equally crazy and passionate. I highly suggest it to you!

I'm so glad you liked it - that movie version stayed pretty close to the original novel. You should really read the book, it's absolutely amazing.
Thank you for the kind compliments! You really should draw Heathy-baby. He's really quite inspirational. Isn't doomed love so tragically beautiful?
