At last, an update! This was a painting I did for my final project for art in June - a representation of two of my most favorite literary characters, Heathcliff and Cathy from the novel, Wuthering Heights.
This was done entirely in acrylics, and I felt I really pushed my skills by attempting a silohuette. I'm very pleased how everything turned out, especially Cathy's hair and the cloud behind it.
This is so lovely! I really love the downhearted mood to this, we can already have a feel of the ill-fated lovers D: I never read the book, but my sis has read parts of it, and I have seen "parodies" of it in comics XP
This is beautiful. Fave'd!

Well, this painting was very large, so I took a picture of it. I've also found that with black and white sketches, my scanner does not do them justice, so I take a photo of them as well.

The lighting in this is fantastic. The clouds look quite real, and you used just the right amount of highlighting on the figures so that there's more detail without anything looking really fake. I certainly hope you got a good grade on this!

btw, I've got a question. When you paint something, do you scan the picture or do you take a photo of it? Do you know which way is better?
